2012 Spring Rush had over 430 individuals register interest in joining a fraternity. To add to the pressure, two fraternities were introduced back on campus bringing the total number of organizations to 21. (Phi Delta Theta and Sigma Beta Rho were added) Given these circumstances, 15 individuals were added to the ranks of the Pi chapter as pledges. This is an outstanding class of 11 freshman and 4 sophomores.

Fall Rush was a huge success with the undergrads bringing in 9 men this semester! We've continued to emphasize the importance of keeping pledge class size to a manageable number in order to keep the overall chapter size reasonable and ensure that we are not growing beyond control !

Here are the updated pictures of the completed renovation work. It was certainly more extensive than we planned but you can clearly see the effort was well worth it.

This is the model that will be used throughout the rest of the structure. Remove existing siding, seal the structure using Tevak plastic sheeting and replace with composite siding. Where possible, ensure that the original architectural details are preserved.

Work is wrapping up on this critical renovation project. Important tasks completed to-date:

- Installation of new composite siding

- Reconstruction of the lower roof and removal of yankee gutter system.

- Extensive flashing and residing of the 3rd floor bathroom dormers.

- Completion of the new pitched dining room roof with additional overhang over existing structure.



We will need to put a coat of paint and will probably look to tackle that in the Spring when the weather is more hospitable. This will be the model that will drive the exterior renovation for the entire house.

Fall Rush was a huge success with the undergrads bringing in 6 men this semester! Typically Fall Rush is rather light, but the Pi has done an excellent job in bring in a quality class of Sophomores!

It is that time of year... the leaves start turning, weather gets colder, and SU homecoming welcomes back Pi brothers young & old. Like last year, there is a lot more to celebrate with SU wisely aligning homecoming and the traditional alumni reunions into one large event! For more information click on the SU Homecoming Website. Following last year's external renovation of the Cupola, we've now put our focus on another major area of the house needing attention, the southern side of the house and dining room roof. Over the course of the last few years we've had an increasing occurrence of leaks in the dining room and kitchen which we originally believed to be tied to the the area where the dining room roof meets the side of the house.
